Last year, my husband built a make-shift dogsled out of an old pair of skis and some plywood. We have a rope/harness system to hook up the dogs so they can pull the sled. Tonight, we took it out for a cruise around the neighbourhood. The two dogs are strong enough that they can carry the weight of one person on the sled, so I "snow-boarded" behind them. It was a lot of fun for both us and the dogs!
I also went for a run earlier tonight, a 3-miler around the base and the neighbourhood. Even though the air temperature was relatively warm (-5*C/23*F), the wind (43km/h or 26mph) made it quite chilly (-12*C/10*F). 3 miles down, 997 to go in 2012!
Makes me so thankful for my 39F weather!! :D
